In the beginning. . . .

Okay, so I have resisted the urge to blog for a few years now because in the early days most of the blogs I read were of a highly apologetic and fundamentalist sort. Back then I was fond of saying that the age of the fundamentalist pamphleteer was alive and well in the blogosphere. However, in recent years a number of very good blogs have appeared and I have been forced to eat my own words. So here goes. . . .my first (and hopefully not feeble) attempt at generating a blog that interests and inspires.
